H.E. Ms. Isabelle F. Picco

Isabelle F. Picco was appointed Permanent Representative to the United Nations in September 2009, having served as Deputy Permanent Representative since 1999.  She joined the Mission at its inception in 1993 when Monaco became a Member of the United Nations and has been a member of the official delegation since then.  Beginning her civil service career in 1990, she worked in the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Budget, where she was in charge of legal affairs.

She received a master research degree in environmental law from the University of Paris 1 in 1987, a master research degree in international law from the University of Paris 2 in 1988, as well as a professional master in law of the production and distribution of energy from the University of Paris 1 in 1989.

She holds master’s research degrees in environmental law and international law from the University of Paris, and also has a master’s professional degree in law from the same institution. She is fluent in English, French, Italian and Spanish.  Born in Monaco, Ms. Picco is a Knight in the Order of Saint-Charles and is fluent in four languages: French, English, Italian and Spanish.
