Adriana Carranca Corrêa, 35, writes daily news articles and special features for O Estado de S. Paulo and also is currently filming a documentary entitled "What if it is a girl?" about young girls involved in criminal actions. Passionate about the issues of development, human rights, and global affairs, Corrêa has been recognized internationally and in Brazil for her reports, especially in the area of human rights. She is a founding member of the National Agency of Social Journalism which presses for more space in the media for the discussion of human rights and development, promotes better qualifications for journalists and uses communication as a tool to promote development in poor communities. Corrêa was also instrumental in the founding of the National Association of Investigative Journalism.

Godwin Nnanna

As assistant editor at BusinessDay newspaper in Lagos, Godwin Nnanna, 32, coordinates the news from correspondents covering the Niger Delta and Outstations areas as well as writes features on those regions. Nnanna has won several international journalism awards, one of which is the Kalam Award for excellence in consumer journalism in Africa for his article on the menace of fake drugs in Nigeria. He has been called one of the most exemplary journalists in Africa by his colleagues and praised for using his position to affect changes in his environment.

Farhad Peikar, 26, is a full-time correspondent for the English-language newspaper The Daily Outlook in Kabul. He also reports for the Ariana Radio and Television Network and has worked with international media organizations such as the Daily Yomiuri, Associated Press, the Financial Times, and EFE (Spanish News Agency). In his short professional career, he has earned the praise and respect of his colleagues for his dedication, reporting, and ability to analyze the social and political challenges facing modern-day Afghanistan from the Taliban insurgency in the south to the fledgling parliament and the work of the international community in the country. He says that as a young Afghan man he feels obligated to be part of the restoration of the broken infrastructure of his country. "The best contribution I can make is through my articles to let the Afghan people know about the responsibilities that we have both toward, as well as to, the international community," he says.

He also hosts the "X-Factor" talk show among other responsibilities at NDTV. For the past two years, Revi has been NDTV's diplomatic correspondent tracking the twists and turns of foreign policy from both within the corridors of government and in the field, often reporting from conflict zones. He is known for his personalized narrative style that brings his stories to life and his flair for telling stories through pictures.
