The Dag Hammarskjöld Scholarship Fund for Journalists

The Board of Directors of the Dag Hammarskjöld Scholarship Fund established an annual award in 2006 to further honor Hammarskjöld -- one of the most esteemed international civil servants of the 20th Century whose beliefs, cultural interests and leadership skills have inspired many individuals – and to further ensure that his heroic vision, character and legacy are not forgotten.

The Board of Directors will annually recognize an individual or organization that embodies Hammarskjöld’s vision and serves as an inspiration to others engaged in the fields of international relations, humanitarian efforts, diplomacy or journalism.
