Mr. Bryce-Pease has been with the SABC since May, 2002. In 2005, he was appointed producer and co-anchor of SABC News’  Weekend Breakfast Show – Weekend Live. During the same period he was also the stand-in presenter on SABC 2’s Morning Live – the largest breakfast television show in South Africa. In March, 2008 Sherwin was appointed SABC U.S. correspondent, based in New York before being appointed to the UN as Bureau Chief in 2010.

He has interviewed U.S. President Barack Obama at the White House, UN Secretary General Ban Ki- moon, South African Presidents Jacob Zuma, Kgalema Motlanthe and Thabo Mbeki, Chile’s President Michelle Bachelet, actor Morgan Freeman and Nobel laureates Nadine Gordimer and Shirin Ebadi among others. Notable stories he’s reported on include President Zuma’s State visits to Jamaica and Cuba, Michael Jackson’s memorial in Los Angeles, the UN Summit on Sustainable Development in Rio de Janeiro, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland and the Boston Marathon terrorist attack in 2013.

Support The Fund

Although the Fund is based at the United Nations, it does not receive financial support from the world organization. The Fund’s program for journalists relies entirely on financial support from U.N. Missions, foundations, organizations and individuals.
